Pond done as well.

Busy old week or two. Going to plant up the margins, maybe create a bog garden along one side with the spare liner to create a more natural look, plant a couple of willows and have a seating area on the back which is where the sun hits when it starts to set, so we can sit out overlooking our little kingdom after a day in the field. Very nice.

Polyunnel's up!

Just when I thought it would never happen, the tunnel popped up as if by magic. Took an afternoon of tugging and filling in trenches I'd painstakingly dug earlier on, reminding me of Cool Hand Luke. It looks a bit space-age sitting like a half-buried zepplin in the field, but we're pleased as punch it's up.

I decided that the best way to use the space would be to have "keyhole" beds (on the left), which is a bed bent around you so you can reach around it without walking. Half is tomatoes and aubergines, the other half is peppers and chillies, and the one one the right is herbs. All rotated to help with the usual pests, etc. The keyhole beds mean we get a normal straight bed along the side, and half as much space again in the middle with access all around. I'll have a small measure of smugness please barman...

Grafter's Hands

I seem to have acquired the hands of a troll - it'd better not spread further than my wrists!
